Thailand’s Kamalaya Sanctuary secures global award for Health and Wellness Destination of the Year

Thailand’s Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary and Holistic Spa has received the honour of being named (for the third time) ‘Worldwide Health & Wellness Destination of the Year’ at  this year’s prestigious World Spa and Wellness Awards.

The jury of this leading award in the wellness industry was impressed by Kamalaya staff’s outstanding commitment to providing high standards of customer service.

Kamalaya was shortlisted alongside five highly reputed properties from across the world with Kamalaya co-founder and Chief Wellness Director Karina Stewart noting “to say we were surprised to receive this prestigious award is truly a spectacular understatement.

“This recognition is a testament to the outstanding care, dedication and expertise of the Kamalaya team without whom we would not be here. It is with immense gratitude we accept and cherish this award on behalf of our team on our 15th birthday. And we wish you all health and peace of mind”.

Assessed by an independent jury of experienced industry professionals, this is the fifth time Kamalaya has been recognised in the awards, having won ‘Destination Spa of the Year – Asia & Australasia’ in 2012 and 2014 and ‘Worldwide Health & Wellness Destination of the Year’ in 2017 and 2018. This latest accolade follows on from Kamalaya’s success in 2019 winning prestigious awards such as the Kinnari Gold Award By TAT in the Wellness Category and the Destination Deluxe Award as ‘Wellness Retreat of the Year’.

Kamalaya Director of Wellness, Gopal Kumar highlighted “each team member plays an integral part in making our wellness sanctuary successful. We feel privileged that the judges recognised our ability to define memorable guest experiences, something Kamalaya has become truly renowned for over the past 15 years. I strongly believe that such awards and recognitions demonstrate that leaders who empower their team to continuously strive towards excellence will achieve the best possible results.’
