Choice Hotels launch new initiative to help young Australians

Choice Hotels, a leading accommodation provider, has launched a new initiative allowing its members to turn their Choice Privileges points into charitable cash donations to support the work of the group's major Australian charity partner, The Reach Foundation.

This new initiative will see Choice Hotels’ more than 400,000 Choice Privileges members help fund The Reach Foundation’s national youth programs which assist more than 40,000 young Australians every year grow into thriving young adults, equipping them with the skills to navigate life’s challenges through participation in the charity’s distinguished workshops.

Launched in the lead up to Christmas, Choice Hotels Asia-Pac Chief Executive, Trent Fraser hopes this new offer will allow members to make a difference after a particularly challenging year for young Australians - one of the most vulnerable groups affected as a result of the pandemic.

Fraser notes "Choice Hotels has a longstanding commitment to our partners, and there is a natural synergy between the work that The Reach Foundation does and the pathways that the hospitality industry offers to our next generation of Aussies – we are proud to be able to offer our members the opportunity to directly contribute to the great work that Reach does.

“The changes to the way we have all been able to travel this year have meant that the majority of our members were unable to take advantage of the Choice Privileges program like they would usually, however with borders reopening and restrictions easing it is a fantastic opportunity for members to take a break, earn points and then use those points for a good cause.”

The Reach Foundation Chief Executive, Philippe Magid thanked Choice Hotels for the launch of this new initiative which will not only help fund the valuable work Reach does in the community but also to amplify its message about the need to support and empower young Australians.

Maggid added “the partnership with Choice Hotels and the funds raised through the generosity of Choice Privileges members will make a substantial difference to the lives of many young Aussies which will mean a lot after the hard year that many have experienced.”

The Choice Privileges program is free to join, and rewards members by allowing them to earn points with each stay across a portfolio of over 200 properties across Australia and New Zealand.
