Celebrity Fitness supports Malaysia's first National Sports Day
Leading Asian fitness club group Celebrity Fitness has been announced as the corporate partner for Malaysia’s first ever National Sports Day – a Government initiative that aims to boost participation in sport and recreation.
Organised by Malaysia’s Ministry of Youth & Sports and taking place on Saturday 10th October 2015, the National Sports Day is expecting thre million participants nationwide, targeting not just the youth and the families, but the disabled, women and senior citizens as well. This nationwide movement aims to penetrate the rural areas, educational institutions and work places, residential areas, government clinics and fitness centres.
As the corporate partner of National Sports Day, all Celebrity Fitness clubs in Malaysia will be open to all public on 10th October with the group also organising a range of fitness and recreation activities throughout the week from 5th October to 11th October 2015.
Activities will feature Zumba as well as Celebrity Fitness signature classes such as Dance N’ Attitude, a celebrity inspired dance fitness program.
Commenting on the involvement of Celebrity Fitness, Chief Executive Martin Darby stated “National Sports Day has been implemented successfully in many developed countries such as Japan, Canada, Qatar and Taiwan.
“Hence, with Malaysia having its own National Sports Day, this is a good stepping stone for us to achieve the develop nation status.
“As one of the leaders in the fitness industry in Malaysia, it would be our honor to be able to work together with the ministry to catapult Malaysia to greater heights.”
In assisting the ministry’s vision of transforming the nation into a Sporting nation, aside from supporting the National Sports Day, Celebrity Fitness is setting up their first club in Southern Malaysia, bringing the best fitness experience to the residents of Johor.
The Celebrity Fitness Paradigm Mall, Johor is expected to open in third quarter of 2016.
