Cairns’ Redlynch Skatepark upgrade to commence
Following thorough community consultation and approval of the concept design, construction on Cairn’s highly anticipated Redlynch Skatepark upgrade is set to start this month.
Trinity Skateparks was engaged by Cairns Regional Council to undertake community consultation and produce a design that reflected the needs of local skateboarders and riders.
The redevelopment aims to address not only the riders' desired features, but also improve the functionality and usability of the whole park, ensuring a well-loved space remains as such.
Scope of Work: The construction will involve the installation of new skatepark features, including a vertical extension, a hipped bowl-end, and an advanced stair set. Additionally, improvements will be made to address water and dirt transfer issues, ensuring optimal usability of the park.
Contractors and suppliers: Local suppliers and contractors will be engaged for the construction phase, supporting the local economy and fostering community involvement.
Construction is scheduled to commence in July and is expected to be completed by late 2024.
