Seating and shade shelters installed for Benalla Skate Park
Seating and shade shelters have been installed in and around the Benalla Skate Park (located in north east Victoria) by Benalla Rural City Council with the assistance of local businesses and the Benalla Men’s Shed.
Benalla Men’s Shed President Ken Serridge said the project saw a range of installations completed, including:
The installation of a 12m x 4 m shade sail.
Grandstand with a shelter that can seat up to 40 people.
Concreting of the existing shade sail to accommodate for aluminium two-tier seating.
The purchase and installation of picnic tables.
Landscape works.
Benalla Rural City Mayor Bernie Hearn thanked local businesses and the Benalla Men’s Shed for their support and contribution in completing the project adding “The Benalla Skate Park is well utilised by the youth of Benalla Rural City.
“It’s a wonderful outdoor space that provides a focus for a range of recreational activities and these recent additions will help improve the skate park and surrounding precinct for everyone who uses it.”
Funding for the Skate Park improvements has been made available through the Victorian Government Outdoor Activation Fund.
