Business and Franchise Brokers appoints NSW health and fitness specialist

Health and fitness business sales specialist, Business & Franchise Brokers (BF Brokers), have announced the new appointment of Shane Byrne as their Business Broker for NSW.

Established in 1994, the Victorian-based, family-owned business have seen continual national growth over their more than 25 years of operations and recently made a strong push into NSW with the appointment of Byrne and the relocation of General Manager, Cameron Prosser.

As an experienced senior operational manager for over 20 years in the fitness and wellness sectors at a local, state, national and international level, Byrne brings with him a unique skill set that allows a deeper understanding of what a potential purchaser or seller requires.

Starting in the industry as a gym instructor and personal trainer in the 1990s, Byrne progressed quickly into management positions. During his 11 years at Fitness First, some of the positions Byrne held include - club and cluster management roles, NSW Regional Business Manager, Queensland Sales and Business Manager and European Sales Manager (heading up Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy).

He was also a co-founder and the Operational Director for the model Fit N Fast, that was first to market in the low-cost space within Australia.

Having spent the last seven years consulting to all aspects of the industry, the majority of this time was spent in areas such as  lease negotiations, financials, fit out and expansion and capital raising, Byrne sees that the combination of these skills serves him well to assist any client through the diverse aspects of purchasing a fitness, wellness or aquatic business, or alternatively helping owners maximise their businesses sale price when it is time to exit.

Announcing the appointment, BF Brokers General Manager, Cameron Prosser stated “Shane’s appointment perfectly complements the way forward for BF Brokers, establishing itself as the ‘Go to Brand’ within the Fitness and Wellness sectors. With Shane’s vast experience and knowledge, this will further allow BF Brokers to continue to focus on being customer centric.
