Building complete at Mount Barker's Summit Aquatic and Leisure Centre
Mount Barker District Council has taken over possession of the Summit Aquatic and Leisure Centre following the construction’s ‘practical completion’ last Friday.
The $52 million facility includes a 25 metre competition/lap pool, a learn to swim pool, a shallow entry pool with water play, a warm water therapy pool, gym and fitness rooms, a creche and community meeting rooms, and a kiosk/cafe.
Finishing touches are now underway at the facility, including the loading in of gym equipment with operators Belgravia Leisure now able to start setting up ready for opening in August.
The centre has been developed by Mount Barker Council and has had the financial backing of the South Australian and Federal Governments.
