Belgravia Leisure to manage Mount Barker District Council aquatic and recreation centres

Mount Barker District Council has announced that Belgravia Leisure is to manage its Adelaide Hills Recreation Centre and Mount Barker Mountain Pool.

The new management agreement follows a thorough tender evaluation process where companies submitted their interest in managing both facilities, with Belgravia Leisure submission agreed at a confidential Council meeting on Tuesday 3th October.

Announcing the change, Mount Barker Mayor Ann Ferguson stated “our previous manager of over 10 years, the YMCA should be recognised for their long term management of these important community sites and Council appreciates what they have done for our community.

“Belgravia Leisure will now manage the next phase in managing the Recreation Centre and Mountain Pool on Council’s behalf and help us continue to achieve improved community wellbeing into the future.”

Looking forward to working with Council to continue providing important sport and recreation services to the community, Belgravia Leisure Chief Executive Nick Cox stated “Belgravia Leisure is excited to be partnering with Mount Barker District Council for a seamless transition for customers, staff and the community.”

The Adelaide Hills Recreation Centre provides a range of community, recreation and sporting activities and programs to the residents of the district and surrounding regions. These include basketball, health club, group fitness, gymnastics etc.

The Mount Barker Mountain Pool is an open air pool and operates during the summer months.

Cox added “existing services and opening hours will stay the same with the Mount Barker Mountain Pool open for the summer on 1st November.”

Belgravia Leisure is expected to fully transition into the management of both sites by the end of November with an expected minimal impact on existing staff and their employment and a seamless outcome for the community.

The Tender was originally advertised on the Australasian Leisure Management Tenders page. Click here for details.
