Brett Jude Joins CLM as Franklin Sport Swim and Fitness Manager

Hamilton, New Zealand-based CLM has appointed Brett Jude as Facility Manager at Franklin Sport Swim and Fitness.

The respected Jude brings with him an extensive amount of experience, knowledge, respect, qualifications and awards from within the leisure industry having been a key industry figure throughout his 22 year career.

Jude brings with him leadership and strong relationship building qualities that both the staff and community will benefit from as he leads by example and encourages others to succeed.

As previous Chief Executive of Manukau Leisure Brett was fundamental in delivering key community outcomes and ensuring the recreation needs of the Manukau City residents were being met through programmes and services available at the council facilities.

Jude has many achievements to his name that include increasing the profitability and performance of a number of business operations. Starting as a lifeguard in Manurewa in 1988, he gained more qualifications and constantly up skilled himself as moved into different roles within the industry and hence has knowledge at all levels of a recreation business.

Being so highly regarded in the industry meant that over the years Brett was a member on many boards including Recreation Leaders, the international advisory board for Centre for Environmental Recreation Management (CERM), the New Zealand Recreation Association (NZRA) and as an executive member of the Northern Region Recreation Association.

In 2009, Jude was recognised at the annual NZRA awards and awarded the Paul Stuart Memorial Award for his contribution to the swimming pool and recreation industry. His qualifications include a post graduate diploma from the Mt Eliza Business School and is completing his Masters in Business Management (University of Melbourne).

As he explains "looking back over my career of over 20 years in the recreation industry, the position that I have most enjoyed was that of a Facility Manager. I'm really excited about joining the team at Franklin and I will look to continue to build on the relationships that have already been established with customers and key stakeholders."

CLM General Manager, Craig Carter says "we are very pleased to have Brett on board at Franklin and we are confident he will lead the Franklin team to ensure they continue to grow and meet the changing needs of the community. Brett brings a wealth of knowledge and it's an exciting appointment for CLM and the Franklin community."
