Bounce expands overseas with upcoming opening of trampoline arena in Abu Dhabi
Having opened its first location outside of Australia in Dubai in June last year, Victorian based trampoline arena operator Bounce Inc is preparing to open a second facility in the Arabian Gulf at Abu Dhabi’s Marina Mall.
To be located on the site of the abandoned ski slope and skating rink within the Marina Mall, Bounce aims to open what will be the largest trampoline facility in the Middle East in October.
According to the Mall operator, “shoppers will be able to look on from the comfort of nearby cafes as thrill-seekers bounce gleefully on super-sized trampolines, run up five-metre-high, see-through walls, and perform bouncing tricks on tightropes.”
Bounce’s trampoline arena in Dubai has proved successful, attracting 85,000 Facebook fans in the United Arab Emirates. The success is driving Bounce to open further new facilities in South Africa, Portugal, Hong Kong and Sweden.
Previewing the new attraction, Bounce Middle East Managing Director Ross Milton told UAE newspaper The National how trampolining, once an activity geared to youngsters, has become a fun and fitness draw for adults.
Milton stated “for us it comes back to those emotions you feel when you’re a little kid.
“You’re jumping out of a tree, or on your parents bed, and you feel that euphoric rush of flight - that feeling of weightlessness when you’re airborne.”
Bounce Middle East Chief Operating Officer Doran Davies added “we have more adults in our fan base than kids.
“The first day you come, you’re trying to find your feet and within a week you’re running up walls and doing things you thought you’d never do.”
The Abu Dhabi Bounce will also boast features never seen before in the Middle East, including the Supertramp, which will be almost double the size of standard trampolines and double the size of any other in the region.
The arena will also feature two giant airbags, two dodgeball courts, five party rooms and a double-the-size performance area, where people run up walls.
Explaining novel features to be used in the arena’s wall, Davies adds “they will be made from perspex and see-through, so shoppers can look through and see the soles of our customers’ shoes as they run up the same walls that they’re looking through.”
