Belgravia Leisure re-awarded Melton Waves Leisure Centre management contract
Belgravia Leisure has welcomed Melton City Council’s decision to award a new five year contract for management and operations of the Melton Waves Leisure Centre to the leading facilities manager.
Welcoming the new contract, Belgravia Leisure Chief Executive Nick Cox explains “we are proud to continue our partnership with Melton City Council.
“Our proven track record of connecting the Melton community to leisure, innovative programming and a clear alignment to council values has led to an increase in patronage and the success of Melton Waves.
“We are delighted with the announcement and are committed to further fostering the partnership with council to provide additional outcomes for the community.”
Since Belgravia Leisure commenced its management of Melton Waves in 2004 attendance has increased to over four million visits annually, memberships have jumped 25% and the facility has been revitalised with a number of programs including a focus on increasing community engagement, disability and inclusion.
In appointing Belgravia Leisure, Melton City Mayor Kathy Majdlik expanded on the Council’s decision to award the management and operations of the Melton Waves Leisure Centre contract to Belgravia Leisure for a five year term.
Mayor Majdlik stated “Belgravia has a high level of experience and has the capacity and capability to deliver the service.
“They have a strong management structure in place and have the proven expertise to manage a large and busy aquatics facility.”
Belgravia Leisure, Australia’s largest commercial operator of aquatic and recreation facilities, currently partners with more than 40 local and state government authorities, employs over 4,500 staff in approximately 100 swim, sports, fitness, health & wellness and leisure facilities across Australia and New Zealand.
With $2 billion of assets under its management and an annual turnover of approximately $120 million, in the past five years, Belgravia Leisure has invested more than $6 million in infrastructure and equipment upgrades in its managed facilities.
