Belgravia Leisure makes key new appointments

Leading facility manager Belgravia Leisure has announced the appointment of key new managerial staff in access, events and operational roles.

Recently appointed Belgravia Leisure Chief Executive Nick Cox is investing in strengthening the Belgravia Leisure management team, positioning the company for sustained future growth and development, welcoming Professor Jeff Walkley, Grant Seamer and Rohan Gunton to the company.

Professor Jeff Walkley - National Disability and Diversity Manager
Professor Jeff Walkley a renowned leader in the health sciences sector has been appointed to the position of National Manager - Disability and Diversity. 

Professor Walkley is a highly respected Associate Professor at RMIT University where his research centers on the promotion of physically active lifestyles to individuals with divergent needs. An expert in the fields of physical education, disability and exercise science, in this new role Professor Walkleywill provide support and leadership to Belgravia Leisure facility managers to develop programs and services for people with disabilities and special needs.

Belgravia Leisure aims to be a provider of choice for the delivery of programs to people with disability, this role will be essential in improving the company’s capacity to provide accessible, high quality programs to people with divergent needs.

Professor Walkley commenced in the role on 10th November.

Grant Seamer - National Events Manager 
Adventure events specialist Grant Seamer joins the Belgravia Leisure team to enhance its national events capabilities.

Seamer has an extensive background in commercial event management and tourism, most recently at the Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort as Manager, Marketing & Events Alpine Tourism.

Seamer has transitioned across to Belgravia Leisure given the opportunities that the national reach of the company provides.

With experience gathered from working with Paramount Pictures, Land Rover Australia and QANTAS Travel, Seamer brings a dynamic approach to event management and development. 

Event management is a new and emerging area for Belgravia Leisure with summer events commencing at Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort in December 2014, and with events taking place throughout the year at Lake Mountain, Mt Buller and Mt Hotham Alpine Resorts including:

• Seasons of Pain
• Trail Run Festival
• Adventure Kids
• Pin It To Win It 

Seamer commenced in the role on 3rd November.

Rohan Gunton – Regional Manager Western Australia
Rohan Gunton joins the Belgravia team as the Regional Manager for Western Australia and will be responsible for overseeing the aquatic and recreation facilities that Belgravia Leisure currently manages and for business development throughout the state. 

Gunton has a Bachelor of Social Science degree from Edith Cowan University and over 19 years of experience within the sport and recreation industry with seven years at a senior executive management level. 

He brings with him a wealth of operational experience and strategic leadership qualities, which will be invaluable in the growth, and development of his team on the west coast.

Gunton will commence in his role on 8th December 2014.
