Belgravia Leisure launches expanded FloatFit class program

After a very successful year running at the Andrew Boy Charlton Pool on the shores of Sydney Harbour, Belgravia Leisure is to launch FloatFit fitness classes at six more of its aquatic and recreation facilities over the coming month.

Developed by AquaPhysical, FloatFit classes are performed on the floating AquaBase and utilise all muscles equally - strengthening them with every move.

The 30 minute full body workout is challenging, low impact and effective with the motion of the water forces the core and concentration to work together. The workout activates intricate stabilising muscles that prevent dislocation and add strength to joints are targeted. These muscle fibres are often unused during exercise.

Classes include HIIT, BALANCE (inspired by yoga and Pilates) and GROW (for children) with new formats are regularly released.

AquaPhysical advise that “with regular attendance at FloatFit classes flexibility improves, core stability strengthens, fitness increases and mental wellbeing is boosted.

“Participants and pools have enthusiastically taken up FloatFit since the launch in 2015. A proven fast return on investment has been key to the success of the brand.”

Part of a growing trend in aquatic-based fitness programs, there are more than 1000 certified FloatFit instructors globally endorsed by Fitness Australia, NASM, AAFA, UK REPS and UAE REPs.

Announcing the expansion of the FloatFit program, Belgravia Leisure General Manager of Marketing and Strategy, James Ellender stated “following a successful FloatFit trial earlier in the year Belgravia Leisure is excited to announce the introduction of a new style of group fitness offering. This demonstrates our effort to commit to providing innovation and diversity of programming for both current members and new demographics alike.

“Participants have the opportunity to experience a workout unlike any other and receive the benefits of both strength and cardiovascular improvements in a low impact and safe environment. “We have (now) launched 60 AquaBase across six facilities in NSW and VIC.”
