Bayswater Waves Aquatic Centre to mark $11.6 million renovation with major reopening event

An inflatable climbing wall and health club and swimming lesson specials are on offer at Bayswater Waves Aquatic Centre's public grand reopening day to unveil its multi-million dollar refurbishment.

The $11.6 million renovation of the Aquatic Centre, located in Perth's north-east, has included the retiling of the aquatic centre’s lazy river and toddler pool, the redesign of the function centre and accessibility upgrades to its changerooms, handrails and ramps, and fully revamped foyer.

Group fitness rooms have undergone an upgrade providing a new, motivating environment. Health Club specials at the reopening are available for new members who sign up on the day and include no joining fee, one month free, one Complementary Body Scan and two Complementary 30 minute Personal Training Sessions.

Sign-ups for to all Swim School programs on the reopening day only will enjoy a $0 Joining Fee. The first 80 sign-ups will also receive either a pair of Speedo kids goggles or a Swim and Survive stainless steel water bottle.

Artist Peter Ryan has also added his own drop of colour with a hand-painted wave mural above the centre’s 25 metre pool.

Bayswater Mayor Filomena Piffaretti enthused “I’m delighted to officially launch the refurbishment of this incredibly popular facility.

“Bayswater Waves is a community favourite and I’m excited to welcome everyone back.

“The refurbished facility has so much to offer and I’m very proud we have been able to deliver these upgrades to our community, ensuring Bayswater Waves will provide for future generations.”

The centre’s grand reopening will be held from 10am to 4pm on 17th February.
