Aventuur and Rip Curl partner in surf retail destination at Perth Surf Park
Aventuur, a leading global creator of surf and wellbeing destinations, and surf brand Rip Curl have partnered to deliver a premier surf retail destination at the $100 million Perth Surf Park anticipated to attract over one million visitors per year.
With all development and environmental approvals now received, construction is expected to commence later in 2024, ahead of the park’s expected opening in 2026.
Strategically located in Central Cockburn, the Perth Surf Park will feature a 56 module Wavegarden ‘Cove’ surfing lagoon that will offer perfect waves for all abilities, high-performance training facilities, and major sporting and cultural events – along with quality leisure, hospitality and retail amenities.
As the official retail partner for the Perth Surf Park, Rip Curl is poised to establish a flagship store that will become a leading surf retail destination in Perth. The store will offer an extensive range of Rip Curl wetsuits and apparel, market-leading surfboards and surf hardware, alongside branded park merchandise. In keeping with the park’s “by the West, for the West” ethos, the product assortment will also celebrate local Perth and Western Australian surf brands.
Aventuur and Certified B Corporation Rip Curl share a commitment to fostering authentic community and sustainability. Together, they plan to collaborate on a variety of events at the Perth Surf Park, including surfing competitions, community activations, and demo days. Additionally, the partnership will focus on developing recycled and sustainable products, reinforcing their dedication to environmental responsibility.
Rip Curl Chief Executive, Brooke Farris (pictured above left) enthused “our Rip Curl flagship store at Perth Surf Park reflects our commitment to surfing in Western Australia. Our collaboration with Aventuur will enable us to deliver the best of Rip Curl’s products and innovations at this vibrant new destination, and meaningfully connect with the community through the continued support of West Australian athletes, grassroots organisations and events. As a proud West Australian, I’m excited for us to create a premier retail experience for local surfers, those learning to surf and park visitors that will see everyone having loads of fun in the water.”
Andrew Ross, Aventuur’s Chairman and Chief Development Officer, highlighted “partnering with Rip Curl, the ultimate surfing company, is a tremendous opportunity for Aventuur and the Perth Surf Park. Together, we will deliver a world-class retail destination that enhances the guest experience by providing quality surf gear and apparel, delivering events that bring our community together, and investing in innovative products that help minimise our environmental impact.”
The Perth Surf Park is expected to create over 300 jobs during construction, and contribute more than $250 million to the WA economy during its operating life.
With all development and environmental approvals now received, construction is expected to commence later in 2024, ahead of the park’s expected opening in 2026.
