AUSTSWIM Business Centre established in Victoria
AUSTSWIM’s strategic vision for a ‘one AUSTSWIM’ model will come to fruition in the new financial year with the development of an AUSTSWIM Business Centre in Victoria.
Previously presentation of AUSTSWIM’s suite of training programs in Victoria were undertaken under a sub-agency management with Aquatic and Recreation Victoria (ARV).
AUSTSWIM acknowledges and thanks ARV for their services and looks forward to furthering future strategic alliances.
Looking forward, AUSTSWIM Chief Executive Gordon Mallet explained "AUSTSWIM is excited by this rationalisation of its business development (and) we look forward to working closely with our teachers and presenters in Victoria.”
Mindful that poolside supervisors are demanding improved program management skills,
AUSTSWIM has also launched a new Career Pathway Course
The AUSTSWIM Aquatic Service Officer (ASO) course is designed to provide knowledge and skill in this leadership and customer service focused role.
Commenting on the new course, Mallet added “AUSTSWIM is pleased to announce the development and launch of this course, the first in a series of leadership and management training programs that provide clear career pathway options for teachers of swimming and water safety”
21 Licensed AUSTSWIM Teachers recently attended the first ASO course in Melbourne with further courses to be held in NSW, Queensland and Western Australia in July.
In addition, AUSTSWIM has recently appointed Jennie Schembri-Portelli to the role of General Manager - Development and Communication.
