Australian Waterslides & Leisure to distribute inflatable flow ride surf machine
Coffs Harbour-based Australian Waterslides & Leisure has announced an exclusive agency with Murphy’s Waves Ltd to distribute its Surf Air inflatable flow ride surf machine in Australia.
Scotland-based Murphy’s Waves Ltd are an acknowledged leader in all aspects of wave generation for the leisure industry, from small pneumatic wave pools, to mega surf pools and its growing range of standing wave rides, which includes our Stingray, Manta Ray, and Boardrider products.
As part of its ongoing innovations, Murphy’s Waves have developed Surf Air as a standing wave product using low pressure inflatable technology where the ride surface, wave, and surrounding areas utilise a low impact inflatable structure.
In a statement on the development of Surf Air, Murphy’s Waves comment “not only does this offer performance benefits but it also means that assembly time for the ride is dramatically reduced and in most cases there will be no need for civil works; at the very most only a simple concrete slab may be required, with no excavation or concrete tanks below ground.”
With the growth in popularity of inflatable aquatic play and waterpark features in a variety of Australian locations in the past few years, Australian Waterslides & Leisure Managing Director Annette Matthews is enthusiastic about being able to offer the Surf Air product.
Matthews explains “it can be a permanent feature of any waterpark or be used at fund raising functions and fares as a mobile unit.
“Surf Air can be ‘rolled out’ and then packed up in a matter of a few hours (while) its soft fall is small children friendly with no hard surfaces to impact.”
As for its appeal, Matthews adds “all skill levels are accommodated as Surf Air has been designed to appeal to the maximum range of users.”
