Australian Outback Spectacular presents its 4000th show

Gold Coast experience the Australian Outback Spectacular is tonight celebrating the milestone of reaching its 4000th show.

Launching back in April 2006, the Australian Outback Spectacular was a first of its kind live dinner and show capturing the grandeur of the Australian Outback through its fauna, spectacular visual effects and action-packed performances.

Regularly refreshed, the current production, Australian Outback Spectacular’s Heartland takes guests on a journey to the outback through a transformative arena, immersive projection mapping, mesmerising animals and true Australian characters.

Australian Outback Spectacular Equine Manager and foundation team member, Heidi Mackay said this is a monumental occasion which the entire team are proud to reach and celebrate.

Mackay commented "the Australian Outback Spectacular has become a Gold Coast icon which has captivated the hearts of over 2.5 million people with our track-record of producing high-quality shows.

“I was lucky enough to perform in the first-ever show and it has been an incredible journey working on all seven productions with some of Australia’s most talented performers across the 4000 shows.

“The evolution of technology has been one of the biggest changes in the show’s history, but I believe it is the heart-warming stories and authentic Australian characters and animals which audiences are most captivated.

“I think I have one of the best jobs in the world, where else can you come to work every day and spend your time with amazing animals from kelpies, stockhorses, sheep and cattle.”

Australian Outback Spectacular higlights:

  • Officially opened on 4th April 2006

  • Across the 4000 shows, there have been seven productions performed

  • Shows have been watched by over 2.5 million people

  • Show takes place in a 1000 seat fully immersive arena with state-of-the-art technology
