Australian Cricket funding opens for Victorian community cricket facility projects

Victorian cricket clubs, associations and local government can now apply for funding from the 2022/23 round of the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund.

The Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund (ACIF) provides funding for community cricket facility projects, with a focus on growing participation and promoting greater access for all.

Since launching in 2018, the ACIF has contributed $5.46 million to 246 Victorian clubs to support building new training nets, upgrade pavilions and redevelop playing surfaces.

Cricket Victoria, in partnership with Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers’ Association, is committed to developing high-quality facilities that provide a welcoming environment for all players, officials, volunteers and fans.

Cricket Victoria Chief Executive Nick Cummins encouraged Victorian cricket stakeholders to make the most of the opportunity.

Cummins notes “Victoria has consistently been an outstanding performer in the ACIF applications – in terms of the number of applications received and the investment that that has been put back into Victorian clubs and facilities.

“We all know the difference great facilities make to our cricket experience. Whether it’s new or revitalised nets or a pavilion given a new lease on life, these projects can have a transformative impact on local participation, club profile and the assets councils have for their communities.”

Who can apply?

The ACIF is open to all clubs, associations, schools, councils and cricket facility managers, acknowledging the important role these partners play in providing and maintaining facilities for community cricket across Victoria.

Funding Categories

The ACIF provides funding in the following two categories:

  • Community Cricket Infrastructure Grant – Minor: $1,000 – $10,000

  • Community Cricket Infrastructure Grant – Major: $10,001 – $30,000

The maximum grant amount available is up to 50% of the total project cost.

Applications in excess of $30,000 will be considered on a case-by-case basis under the Strategic Cricket Infrastructure Funding category. Projects under this category will generally be multi-faceted and provide a broad regional benefit for cricket.

Clubs and organisations seeking support in completing their applications are welcome to contact Cricket Victoria’s State Infrastructure Manager Callum Dean on cdean@cricketvictoria.com.au or visit the Grant Opportunities page of the Cricket Victoria website.

Applications close on Sunday 26th March 2023.
