ASM Global to enhance venues’ 5G connectivity with new partnership

Facility management company ASM Global has moved to enhance connectivity at its international network of more than 300 venues with 5G technology after announcing a multi-year partnership with USA-based telecommunications infrastructure company Mobilitie.

The deal, brokered by AEG Global Partnerships, will see Mobilitie integrate technology such as augmented and virtual reality as well as improving broadcast production as ASM Global stadiums, arenas, convention centres and event spaces.

ASM Global is also aiming for the partnership to enhance its operational and data analytics capabilities, as well as its VenueShield security and safety protocols and procedures.

With VenueShield being deployed worldwide helping guide the return of live events, ASM Global President and Chief Executive, Ron Bension stated “ASM Global creates memorable live events every night worldwide and we are committed to providing our fans with the ability to share their incredible experiences seamlessly in real-time.

“This extension of our partnership with Mobilitie will help fuel our creativity to envision and implement reimagined in-venue experiences.”

Christos Karmis, President and Chief Executive of Mobilitie, added “we are excited to further expand our relationship with ASM Global, the international innovator in the delivery of memorable entertainment experiences.

“We look forward to continuing to work closely with their global leadership and venue teams. We currently provide neutral-host wireless networks at several ASM Global properties, including the recently announced Coliseo de Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico Convention Center venues, and we look forward to expanding worldwide.”

ASM Global’s portfolio of venues includes the stadiums of the NFL’s New Orleans Saints and Las Vegas Raiders, as well as the NBA’s Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets.

In the Asia-Pacific region it manages venues including Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena, Perth’s Optus Stadium and the Cairns Convention Centre.
