Asian attractions and theme parks events look to bounce back in 2021
Two of Asia’s major events for the attractions and theme parks industry - the Dubai Entertainment, Amusement and Leisure (DEAL) Show and the IAAPA Expo Asia - are to return in 2021.
Cancelled this year, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo Asia will be held in the city of Macau from 7th to 10th June (with a Trade Show from 8th to 10th June), anticipating that more than 200 exhibitors from more than 20 countries will be present.
Speaking in March when the 2020 Expo was cancelled, IAAPA President and Chief Executive, Hal McEvoy stated “IAAPA is committed to supporting the global attractions industry, and we will continue to assist members impacted by the Coronavirus.”
The 2021 edition of the IAAPA Expo Asia is being held at the Venetian Macau, while the Association is also currently committed to hosting the IAAPA Expo 2020 in Orlando, Florida, USA this November. Attendee registration for those shows opens in April and May respectively.
In a communication to the industry, International Expo Consults, organisers of the Dubai Entertainment, Amusement and Leisure (DEAL) Show have advised that the 2021 event will take place on yet to be announced dates in March next year at the Dubai World Trade Centre, noting that “leading global brands have signed up for the event.”
Originally due to have been held from 23rd to 25th March this year, DEAL’s dates were moved to 15th to 17th June 2020 before the event was cancelled due to fears over the Coronavirus.
