ASCTA Convention success on the Gold Coast
The 2012 Convention of the Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA) has proved to be a remarkable success, attracting over 900 attendees and more than 40 trade exhibitors for eight days of networking, social events and presentations
Held at the Sofitel Gold Coast from 24th April to 1st May, the ASCTA Convention was led by a cast of over 75 national and international presenters. In total, 138 lectures, pools sessions and presentations were deliver on a diverse range of topics from babies to Olympians; open water swimming to swimming with disability; from swim school management to personal development, training and assessment with all levels of ability catered for from teachers and coaches undertaking their very first accreditation course through to elite level coaches gaining their penultimate accreditation.
In between networking socials and Go Club Breakfasts topics delegates were able to catch up with old friends, and makes new ones, while shaing and exchanging ideas.
The many international guests who attended also commented that the open sharing is something they see nowhere else and serves as a testament to the strength of character in the Australian swimming scene.
