ARV to present floor safety seminar

Aquatics and Recreation Victoria (ARV) is to present an executive breakfast seminar - 'Tips on Concourse Floor Safety'.

To be presented by Advanced Technology Testing and Research (ATTAR) on Tuesday 28th February at ATTAR's Head Office in Keysborough, the event follows interest in the cleanliness and safety of pool decks discussed in the feature 'How Clean is your Pool Deck?' (co-authored by ATTAR) in the November/December 2011 issue of Australasian Leisure Management.

The seminar will explain:

• How slip tests are conducted
• How to effectively clean pool concourses
• How to prevent slips, trips and falls
• Short case histories on floor performance
• Demonstrations of the method for obtaining 'R' ratings for flooring products - Wet Barefoot Ramp Testing and in situ wet and dry testing methods complying with Australian and International Standards.

Established in 1985 ATTAR offers a variety of consulting services including metallurgical services, acoustic emission testing, slip resistance testing, failure analysis, expert witness and other tailored services.
