Aquatic play facilities open at BIG4 Howard Springs Holiday Park

Visitors to BIG4 Howard Springs Holiday Park have a new way to escape the Northern Territory heat with the opening of a brand new splash park.

The first of its kind for BIG4 in the Northern Territory, the zero-depth multi-level aquatic play area is equipped with a range of interactive features to suit all ages and designed to bring even more fun to family holidays.

Joining nine BIG4 Holiday Parks that already boast state-of-the-art aquatic playgrounds, the splash park at BIG4 Howard Springs Holiday Park reflects an increasing trend around the world and here in Australia, offering added value to the total holiday park experience.

Supplied and installed by Vortex Aquatic Playgrounds, the new area incorporates a super-sized splash tipping bucket, spray cannons, water squirting frogs and play equipment to keep kids entertained and cool in the warmer weather. The splash park also has interactive ground sprays that are activated when a person stands on trigger spots and features a soft fall surface for safety.

The splash park is just one of a number of new additions to the park, with four spa units, two three-bedroom cabins and a toilet block added this year bringing the total cost of the park's expansion to nearly $3 million.

BIG4 Howard Springs Holiday Park owner Viv Lavender says the last year has been the busiest period the park has ever experienced, something she puts down to their extensive range of family-friendly facilities.

Lavender explains "our guests know they can expect a family-friendly holiday experience full of activities for adults and kids alike, including a huge jumping pillow, three salt water pools, three spas and now the new splash park.

"Parents are always on the lookout for activities to keep the kids entertained, especially over the school holidays. We're confident the Splash Park will bring more visitors to Howard Springs encouraging them to stay longer to enjoy all our fun, family-friendly facilities while they explore the region."

BIG4 Holiday Parks Chief Executive Ray Schleibs says the park's impressive range of facilities is testament to the BIG4 group's commitment to providing the ultimate Aussie holiday experience.

Schleibs adds "BIG4 has set the benchmark for the holiday park industry in Australia and the continual addition of Splash Parks, resort style pools, luxury cabins and more are all a part of this. We're very excited to provide our Northern Territory guests with even more reason to visit and stay with BIG4.
