Allianz Australia renews enduring partnership with Paralympics Australia
With Paris 2024 in sight, Allianz Australia is re-committing its support for the Australian Paralympic movement, extending its partnership with Paralympics Australia that first began in 2011.
The partnership extension will see Allianz Australia remain Paralympics Australia’s official insurance partner beyond the Paris Paralympic Games, until at least December 2024.
The global insurer will also be an official supporter of Paralympics Australia’s World Champion Australian Steelers wheelchair rugby team, until at least the end of 2023.
Welcoming the extended partnership, Paralympics Australia Chief Executive, Catherine Clark stated “with Allianz as our Official Insurance Partner we know we’re in the best hands possible.
“What makes our relationship with Allianz so much stronger is that we have common values and common goals around inclusivity and accessibility.
“Allianz has done tremendous work around mental health and wellbeing, which Paralympics Australia has engaged with and supported. They are also looking to change the narrative to make sport open to everyone through programs including their recently launched #CoachForAll campaign, which features Paralympic legend Louise Sauvage and provides inclusivity training for coaches of all levels.
“On behalf of Paralympics Australia, I extend our warmest thanks to our good friends and long-term partners at Allianz for their continued support, as we work towards Paris 2024. This is an enduring partnership we are immensely proud of and we look forward to collaborating and extending on the great achievements that we have already yielded together.”
A global partner of the International Paralympic Committee, dating back to 2006, Allianz extended its commitment by becoming a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Insurance Partner in 2021. Its work with the Paralympic movement has focused on wellbeing in recent years, seeking to connect communities through sport for good.
Noting that the extension of the partnership with Paralympics Australia enables both organisations to share the value of Paralympic sport in new and innovative ways, Allianz Australia Managing Director, Richard Feledy commented “for over 12 years, we have been a sponsor of Paralympics Australia, supporting the hopes, challenges and needs of our local Para-athlete community through mentorship, career opportunities and wellbeing services.
“With inclusivity and accessibility at the heart of everything we do at Allianz, we’re proud to be part of a local and global community of such shared values. We are committed to supporting Paralympics Australia’s long-term strategy to utilise the platform of sport to influence and create positive social change, starting with the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.”
