AFL seeks online retail solution for merchandise sales

Having experienced rapid growth in the online sale of merchandise over recent years, the Australian Football League (AFL) is seeking an online retail provider to deliver an end to end solution for future online merchandise sales.

AFL Clubs have seen rapid growth in their merchandise sales, with internet sales experiencing 37% compounded growth between 2004 and 2012. This rapid growth has presented challenges for the Clubs, specifically surrounding the areas of storage, order fulfilment, customer service, online merchandising, marketing and accurate sales reporting.

As a result, the AFL has issued an expressions of interest (EOI) to identify a preferred online retail provider to deliver an end to end solution for AFL Clubs and for the AFL web environment.

The purpose of the EOI is to outline the specific requirements of the AFL and the Clubs to service all areas of the online retail operations, as an end to end solution that is scalable and capable of growing online sales globally, whilst delivering improved service to our fans.

More information can be found at the AFL e-tendering website which provides a web-based tool that enables the AFL to procure goods and services over the internet.
