Adventure Waters planning in final stages

Having received development approvals from the Cairns Regional Council in October last year, Adventure Waters Waterpark Chief Executive Paul Freebody has announced further details on the Park's progress.

Freebody is confident of being able to announce a timeline for the construction and the official targeted opening date for the park later this month.

Freebody said that preliminary planning stages have gone very well stating "we had several successful meetings with various ride manufacturers and suppliers at the International Amusement Parks & Attractions Expo (IAAPA) in Las Vegas in November last year and we decided on an immediate course of action to get construction going as quickly as possible."

To accelerate the current planning stages for Adventure Waters, lead Consultant for the project and industry veteran Steve Peet (pictured below) has also announced his consultancy company's plans for the New Year.

Peet explaines "a project like Adventure Waters requires extensive planning and that is why we have now completed all of our other 2009 projects.

"This means our company now has a clean slate so that we can provide our total focus on the development of Adventure Waters over the next few months.

"We have also assembled some of the worldâs best waterpark specialists to ensure the best possible result and expect to formally engage their services within the first quarter of 2010."

Freebody added "the recent announcements of an additional 300,000 airline seats into Cairns this year has boosted everyoneâs confidence regarding tourism growth and the belief that Adventure Waters will well exceed its original conservative attendances projections.

"We intend to support regional marketing at every opportunity and believe that Adventure Waters will be very important element towards the growth and development of the lucrative family market to the area."
