Fiona Boyer appointed to the role of General Manager Customer at NZSki
Queenstowner Fiona Boyer has joined NZSki in the newly-created role of General Manager Customer, looking after the Guest Services as well as Snowports School teams for the ski operator’s three ski areas Coronet Peak and The Remarkables in Queenstown, and Mt Hutt in Canterbury.
“The role has been newly created to enhance the customer experience moving seamlessly from first point of contact at our snow centres through to enjoying our on-mountain snow as well as non-ski experiences,” explains Fiona.
“I see a key part of the role as connecting the dots seamlessly for our customers across the whole mountain experience. Our guests see us as one team, and that is how we need to engage with them,” she says.
“This will look at everything from how we are engaging with our community, our schools, competitive teams, guests from NZ and offshore, and thinking futuristically about our offering and customer journey.
Fiona is herself very familiar with Coronet Peak, having been a former national-level alpine ski racer, brought up on the Queenstown ski field. Now a qualified Snowsports NZ national alpine technical delegate with daughter Alex Hull racing professionally, Fiona is well known and regarded in the snow sport community.
She joins the NZSki leadership team after being head of coaching and facilitation at Queenstown Resort College for the last nine years, leading the Ambassador program into six regions around New Zealand, a role that similarly encompassed customer engagement as well as delivering an outstanding visitor experience in regions.
Fiona also facilitated in leadership as well as coaching and staff development initiatives across tourism, hospitality, healthcare and local government. She has extensive experience in the snowsports industry previously, both in NZ, Europe and USA. Previous industry leadership roles as an NZSIA and PSIA (USA) examiner, NZSIA Board member as well as instructor trainer, and national demonstration team member.
“Remaining close to our communities and across our own teams will be key to the success of this new role,” says Fiona, who has spent the last month meeting with the teams at the three ski areas at close of the 2018 season.
“I’m super excited about all the opportunities to continue this journey towards Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Mt Hutt delivering absolutely world class customer experiences every day.”
