Adelaide United extends Coopers Stadium agreement with Adelaide Venue Management

The Adelaide United Football Club has announced it has signed a five-year agreement with Adelaide Venue Management (AVM) for the lease of Coopers Stadium.

The deal continues the club’s long-term tenancy at the Hindmarsh venue - voted as the premier football stadium in the country by A-Leagues players and fans in 2023.

Under the agreement, the club’s women’s and men’s sides will have increased access to Coopers Stadium for training, and more Liberty A-League women’s matches will be hosted at the venue effective immediately.

Announcing the extension, Adelaide United Chair, Ned Morris stated “this new agreement permits both our men’s and women’s programs to train at Coopers Stadium at least once per week in season, alongside an increased prevalence of open training sessions for fans to attend.

“It’s clearly evident that Coopers Stadium provides the best live football experience in the country.

“It is part of Adelaide United’s strategy to continue to invest in the gameday experience at Coopers Stadium. This arrangement will allow us the opportunity to improve on the stadium experience for our fans and we look forward to hosting them, starting with Friday night’s double header.

“We are very grateful to Andrew Daniels and his team at AVM, and we are excited to work closely together to deliver the best football stadium experience in Australia.”

AVM Chair Andrew Daniels also welcomed the agreement, adding “Coopers Stadium is very pleased to extend our partnership with Adelaide United Football Club, as we continue as South Australia’s home of football.

“Voted ‘Best Stadium’ by Professional Footballers Australia during the 2022/23 season for its pitch quality and atmosphere, Coopers Stadium provides the perfect ‘theatre’ for top level football games. These qualities were again highlighted during the recent 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

“It is fantastic that Adelaide United’s men’s and women’s sides will continue to welcome visiting teams to Coopers Stadium, and we look forward to the Club enjoying many successes here over the upcoming seasons.”

The deal, which also covers the club’s office space at Hindmarsh, solidifies the partnership between Adelaide United and AVM on the back of the South Australian Government’s $53 million investment in the stadium and the success of the FIFA Women’s World Cup matches staged there.
