24-hour gym Stepz Fitness opens in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley

Growing fitness franchise Stepz Fitness has further expanded its network in Australia with a new gym in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley.

The club opened its doors this week at the TC Beirne Centre, making it the first 24-hour gym in the popular inner-city suburb and the eighth gym for Stepz Fitness.

Stepz Fitness Fortitude Valley franchisee Paul Dang, who owns the business with his wife Sa, said the gym was the perfect addition to Brisbane's famous entertainment precinct.

Dang explained "there was no 24-hour gym in the area and after speaking with the locals, we realised there was an exciting and untapped opportunity to open this style of club.

"There are a lot of corporates, residents and students who frequent the Valley, so offering a gym that was flexible for this market made a lot of sense. We are close to the train station and in between the Brunswick Street and China Town malls, so we enjoy a prime location too."

Dang, 30, said the Stepz Fitness business model attracted him to the franchise, adding "many of the big gym franchises don't offer 24/7 hours of operation, they are expensive and they lock customers into long-term contracts which often is not worth the dollars or effort.

"The impressive thing about Stepz Fitness is our affordable membership fees, our 24-hour, seven days a week accessibility and no fixed contracts.

"This meets the needs of our clients who lead busy lifestyles, so with this type of affordability and flexibility there is no excuse for not working out."

The gym is one of the biggest Stepz gyms at 305 metres2 and is decked out with state-of-the-art equipment.

Paul and Sa, who work in the banking and government sectors respectively, both enjoy active lifestyles and Paul said it was this love of fitness that also attracted them to operating a gym.

He added "we've both been going to the gym for three years now and in our spare time we play touch football and Sa runs half marathons.

"We are very active people and are passionate about health, fitness and everything Stepz Fitness stands for, and we want to help our customers become healthy, active people too.

"If things go well, we hope to open more gyms in other locations across Brisbane."

Stepz Fitness Fortitude Valley is located at Shop 28 at the TC Beirne Centre, 315 Brunswick Street.

Other Stepz Fitness gyms are located in Brisbane CBD, St Lucia, Stones Corner, Wynnum, Toowong, Cannon Hill, and Burwood in NSW.
