2015 Swimming World Cup to visit eight Asian and European venues
World swimming governing body FINA has confirmed the calendar its 2015 Swimming World Cup series.
Beginning just two days after the World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, Russia, the series will be held across eight countries in three clusters.
Beginning in Moscow on 11th and 12th August, this year's series holds a prize pool of US$2 million across the eight meets, a sum which is hoped will tempt the world's best swimmers to take to the 25 metre pool.
After Moscow the World Cup travels to France for the brand new leg in Chartres-Paris on 15th and 16th August, rounding off the first of three clusters in the series.
Cluster two opens in Hong Kong on 25th and 26th September before travelling to Beijing, China on 29th and 30th and Singapore's new OCBC Aquatic Centre (pictured) on 3rd and 4th October.
The third and final cluster begins in Tokyo, Japan on 28th and 29th October before moving to Qatar's Aspire Zone on 2nd and 3rd November and then visiting Dubai on 6th and 7th November.
The Asian heavy programme is similar to the 2014 version.
Introducing the program, FINA President Dr Julio C Maglione stated "the 2015 edition of this World Cup has definitively a very attractive calendar, and will be attended by our best swimmers.
"Everything will be put in place to ensure great excitement and superb performances during this circuit, which became an important reference in the international swimming calendar."
The current swimming year is set to culminate with the World Championships in Kazan, Russia, from 24th July until 9th August.
