2012 Asian Flow Tour set for September launch

Following the success of the inaugural Asian FLOW Tour in 2011, the 2012 event is set to gain increased global recognition with winners of the Asian event scheduled to be be flown to Utah, USA for the World FlowRider Championships.

Spearheaded by Singapore's Wave House Sentosa, the 2012 Asian FLOW Tour will be held throughout September before the finalists from the participating venues congregate at Wave House Sentosa on 6th October to contest the title of Flow Tour Asia champions.

Events and dates are:

Singapore Qualifier 1st September 2012 - Wave House Sentosa, Singapore
Saipan Qualifier 21st & 22nd September 2012 - Pacific Islands Club, Saipan
Thailand Qualifier 29th September 2012 - Flow House, Bangkok
Wild Cards Selection 5th October 2012 - Wave House Sentosa
Flow Tour Asia Finals 6th October 2012 - Wave House Sentosa

Competitors from around the Asia Pacific region can compete in the Pro Men Flowboarder, Pro Women Flowboarder or Pro Bodyboarder categories.

While Australia featured in the 2011 tour with an event at Dreamworld, none of Australia's FlowRider venues are hosting the event this year.

Disappointed past and potential Australian FLOW Tour competitors look set to make use of low cost airlines such as Scoot to carry them to Singapore for the events.

The Venues

Wave House Sentosa offer high-adrenaline Flowboarding on its Double FlowRider® or the ultimate 10-foot FlowBarrel®, situated in an entertainment environment featuring bars and restaurants.

Pacific Islands Club, Saipan, Northern Marianas Islands - offers to international travellers a range of white sand beaches and crystal clear blue waters, as well as the lively bustle of night life, shopping, a variety of ethnic restaurants and a multitude of outdoor activities. Pacific Islands Club (PIC) is known as the most spectacular resort on the island of Saipan, resting on a prime beachfront property. PIC is also the congregation ground for many local and regional expert riders from Japan and South Korea.

Flow House Bangkok - set to open in August 2012, Flow House Bangkok is the first of its kind in Thailand. Located in mid-downtown Bangkok, Flow House Bangkok features indoor and outdoor all-day dining plus a fully licensed bar, generous outdoor recreational area, a plunge pool and private function rooms.
