Expressions of interest: City of Hobart seeks ropes course expressions of interest

The City of Hobart is seeking expressions of interest from ropes course operators wishing to develop and operate a ropes course on Council owned bushland.

This expression of interest represents a significant opportunity for an experienced ropes course operator to establish a ropes course in bushland directly adjacent to a capital city.

The EOI is being undertaken to identify a preferred operator. Following selection of the preferred operator Council will then work with that operator to identify, assess and select a suitable site within Council’s bushland reserve.

In addition to catering for the tourism market it is Council’s hope that any ropes course developed on Council land will also service the local corporate and educational market.

While the City will provide practical support to the project it will be ropes course operator’s responsibility to drive and fund the project, and ultimately be the owner and operator of the facility.

Potential respondents should note that the objective of this EOI is to select a preferred operator only and in this regard the submission requirements are focussed on the respondents providing information about their company and experience in the development and operation of ropes courses.

While the EoI requires respondents to provide a brief description of the style of ropes course they are proposing, they do not need to provide detailed information on the site and specific designs or infrastructure requirements. The development of the project concept, including designs and a business plan, will be part of subsequent project phases.

The Expression of Interest is open through to Friday 23rd December 2016.
