Yas Mall to open in March 2014

Aldar Properties, Abu Dhabi's leading real estate developer, has announced that Yas Mall will open to the public on 26th March 2014.

Construction of the 300,000 metre2 regional super mall is currently 78% complete with major milestones being achieved including the permanent power and chilled water connections.

Adjoining the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi attraction and a key compent of the third stage of the development of Abu Dhabi's Yas Island, which already features the Yas Waterwold development, Yas Mall is expected to attract 25 million visitors in its first year of operations and more numbers thereafter.

Announcing the opening date, Aldar Properties Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Al Mubarak "we are incredibly pleased to have reached this important milestone ahead of schedule.

"Together with our retailers we are looking forward to taking the next steps towards completion. With power and water now available to all our tenants we are confident that Yas Mall will be delivered on time."

"The next phase involves working with our various retail partners to facilitate their fit-out process in time for the mall's opening in March of 2014.

"We have already delivered the family entertainment centre to the Landmark Group for fit-out, and the next major units scheduled for delivery will be the cinema and Geant Hypermarket and other brands including Zara and Brook's Brothers which will be the largest in the region."

The mall will feature an unmatched entertainment offering and a wide range of dining options, from casual and family dining, to multi-cuisine restaurants and an extensive food court. Yas Mall will also feature the first Cheesecake Factory in Abu Dhabi.

The Square at Yas Mall will be the largest central gathering space of any shopping centre in the Middle-East. The casual dining experience and year-round entertainment events are all part of the attractions at Yas Mall which links directly into the world's largest indoor theme park, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

Retail Highlights at Yas Mall include:

• Largest Nike store in the region - 616 metre²
• Largest Adidas store in the region - 774 metre²
• First Brook's Brothers store in Abu Dhabi and the largest in the region - 814 metre²
• First FunWorks family entertainment centre in the Middle East - 6,500 metre²
• The only 2-level GO Sport store in the UAE - 1,818 metre²
