Xtreme Entertainment marks successful 2014

A year after opening the refurbished Xtreme Botany (having closed because of a fire in 2012) along with brand new sister store, Xtreme Wairau, Auckland-based Xtreme Entertainment celebrated the ‘first birthdays' of the family entertainment centres (FEC) with an Xtreme Birthday Bash.

The event included half price attractions and other surprises plus the chance for one lucky customer to win a $10,000 birthday present.

On show was Xtreme Botany’s completely new fit-out with 12 state of the art bowling lanes, a Timezone Games centre, Laser Frenzy laser Maze, food and beverages, a licensed bar with live sports, gaming lounge and an ATM machine on site.

With plans in the pipeline to expand the Centre with LaserTag and a rope climbing course in the future, Xtreme Botany has well and truly risen from the ashes.

Xtreme Wairau’s opening realised a dream for owners Coin Cascade, with Wairau being the largest indoor entertainment venue/FEC of its type in New Zealand.

Offering 20 lanes of bowling, including an eight-lane corporate area with bar, two Timezone Game areas, a 24 combatant Megazone Laser Tag arena, plus an Italian made 10 car dodgem track and Kidzone, a massive indoor playground covering  four levels, Xtreme Waira features two storeys of interactive fun for children aged five to 12 as well as a ‘littlies’ play area for younger visitors.

Kidzone sits alongside the Xtreme café with free Wi-Fi, and the convenience of an on-site  ATM machine,  a licensed with bar, with café style meals and R18 gaming lounge.

Coin Cascade Managing Director Gary Walker explains "we always wanted Xtreme to offer an all-weather multi attraction entertainment venue that  the entire extended family could enjoy and seeing both these stores in action over the last year, we’re really happy to sit back for a minute and celebrate our vision being a reality."

For Botany, the reopening had special significance with neighbouring businesses offering birthday congratulations.

Neighouring retailer, Reduced to Clear issued a statement that explained "Xtreme being back is great, it’s brought people back to this end of the Centre and it shows in an increase in foot traffic, customer count and increased sales."

Xtreme Botany’s regular bowling leagues have been offering congratulations too.

Bowlers Jon and Bev from the Seniors league team say they started bowling over 20 years ago in Henderson and now they come all the way from Pukekoe every Tuesday and Thursday to bowl at Botany.

The pair explain "we like that the lanes don’t break down, Joseph (lanes technician) does a great job on the lanes and all the staff are so friendly."

Coin Cascade General Manager Nigel Wooding adds “even though plans for Wairau were underway when the fire took Botany out, it has been a mammoth effort by all involved to not only get the two stores up and running but, with nothing to compare them to, it’s taken the last year to fine tune the staffing and processes to where we are really seeing results.

"A year on, and it’s time to celebrate what has been a roller coaster of hard work establishing both Centres as the definitive all-weather entertainment destination for all ages."

Xtreme Entertainment Botany is located at 500 aTi Rakau Drive, Botany.

Xtreme Entertainment Wairau is located at 10 Target Court, Wairau Valley.
