World-first private health, wellness, recovery and anti-ageing social club concept Saint Haven coming to Melbourne

The launch of Saint Haven, a world-first private wellness and social club concept arriving to Collingwood, Melbourne in March aims to completely redefine the notion of “living your best life”.

Created and backed by entrepreneur Tim Gurner, founder and Chief Executive of the $10 billion Gurner Group, Saint Haven will be a holistic experience where performance meets recovery, strength meets mindfulness, and modern science meets ancient wisdom, while you develop social connections for life.

The first club, set to open its doors early next year, is located in Collingwood and will include a first of its kind wellness ‘food is medicine’ holistic bar and restaurant with non-alcoholic cocktails and nootropics, alongside six distinct training performance and exercise zones, thermal baths, recovery, anti-ageing and bio-hacking experiences, holistic medicinal and ancient treatments, a members lounge and co-working space that will help embrace what Gurner says is one of the most important elements to health: “social connection’.

The training and performance area has been designed with six spaces across Strength + Conditioning, High Intensity Interval Training, Yoga, Meditation & Breathwork, Reformer Pilates and Performance Cycling.

State-of-the-art equipment has been sourced from around the globe from Walden Meditation accessories, Waston Dumbbells, Rogue Strength & Conditioning, Technogym cardio and PLAE racking and accessories. The investment into the fit-out alone is rumoured to be in the vicinity of $7.5 million.

These offerings will be complemented and enhanced by a series of recovery, anti-ageing and bio- hacking experiences and treatments in a serene ancient baths environment, including cryotherapy, infrared saunas, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, IV infusion therapies, vitamin C-infused showers and hot and cold thermal pools enriched with pure and unpolluted Himalayan rock salts and minerals.

Programming and equipment selection has been inspired some of the leading minds in health and wellness in Australia. Saint Haven has partnered with: Nam Baldwin, elite performance coach to Mick Fanning and the Richmond Tigers; Charlotte Thaarup, one of the leading global minds in mediation and mindfulness; and Simon Gerrans, Australia’s best road cyclist, having held the yellow jersey in the 2013 Tour de France.

Beyond the physical spaces and offerings, members will be encouraged to unlock their ‘best selves’ with the latest technology including a Saint Haven Members App which will make informed workout, recovery and nutrition recommendations based on each member’s personalised Oura ring sleep and readiness score that will be synched to the App.

Saint Haven will also offer Australia’s most comprehensive and holistic Executive Health Check, which will use empirical data such as blood markers, epigenetic testing, pathology screening, blood glucose monitoring, sleep and resting heart rate data, to analyse the member’s current state of health and wellbeing.

Once assessed, the Saint Haven team can tailor a program consisting of science-backed research, along with a tailored approach to nutrition, rest, recovery and treatments, to optimise the member’s health journey and particular areas to focus on, to ensure each planned session is optimised exactly for what their body needs at that time.

Memberships will operate similar to a private club model whereby membership is not automatically guaranteed, but instead based on an application process. Members can pay for different levels of service that may range from $130 per week for a standard membership, up to north of $1,000 per week for unlimited access.

The concept is inspired by Gurner’s own 20-year health journey that began with opening a gym at the age of 21, followed by two decades of research and first-hand exposure to the world’s leading biohacking and longevity practices. It brings together expertise from many of his own private and personal team of health professionals who have collaborated on many of the programs, rituals and protocols that will be on offer to members.

Gurner said he was attracted back to the industry through his personal wellness journey and desire to challenge the conventions of health, wellness, recovery and science, in a luxury-inspired setting.

Gurner shares “Saint Haven is an exclusive, private, social and wellness club for individuals focused on health and wellness who are looking to live their best lives.

“I have always been obsessed with health and wellness as I truly believe there is no asset more important than our own health and wellbeing. I want to live every day with energy, passion, love, empathy and vigour and Saint Haven has been created to give people that feeling every day.

“Over the past decade I have been able to surround myself with a team of world-leading professionals to help me unlock my own peak performance by integrating hard training, supplementation, meditation, nutrition, science-backed research and ancient practices into my own routine.

“Through my wellness journey I had always seen it as a limitation of the industry that I could never access all the treatments and services together in one place, it was always one venue for a gym, another for a recovery studio, and another for medicinal or alternative health treatments – no one has ever integrated it all into one holistic space.

“Cleanliness and hygiene are also incredibly important and in my experience, many traditional gym bathrooms fall well short of the bare minimum standard of hygiene. That is why Saint Haven’s bathrooms will be like surrendering into a truly luxurious hotel experience, complete with no-tox surfaces, touchless technology everywhere and exceptional cleaning and sanitising practices.

“Wellness is not a gym, it is not just a meditation cave or a recovery centre; it goes so far beyond fitness. True wellness is about a genuine practice bringing together every pillar of wellness into one space to take people’s lives to a whole new level.

“Training hard is critical, but so is recovery, rest and sleep and people always underestimate the importance of social connection – it is one of the key elements of the blue zones that have kept people living longer and happier.

“Saint Haven will allow its members access to the world’s most progressive, science-backed innovations in rejuvenation, longevity and anti-ageing, just as I have been able to unlock the benefits of these practices in my own journey.

“Through the development business, I have embarked on a mission to create amazing spaces. Saint Haven presents a natural evolution of my passions; we’re creating something that invites users to enjoy incredible health benefits in a single, breathtaking location.

“Saint Haven will be a combination of the best private clubs in the world, 6-star hotel luxury and service, ancient and modern anti-ageing and bio hacking remedies, hospitality where food is medicine, the best gym space and tailored health services, all wrapped up in a breathtaking design- centric space that will make people feel truly calm and inspired to focus on themselves.

“Think of it as the Four Seasons of wellness.”

Saint Haven will open its doors in Collingwood in March 2023.
