Women in Sport Breakfast returns for 2022
The Women in Sport Breakfast is set to return to Marvel Stadium in Melbourne Docklands on Friday 7th October with the event coinciding with International Day of the Girl on 11th October and will celebrate and recognise women and girls in sport with a focus on celebrating the year’s achievements and looking forward to what’s next for women’s sport.
With Victoria University as the Major Partner, the 2022 event will be delivered by Women Sport Australia (WSA) who has assumed the hosting role for the next two years.
Gymnastics Victoria, who grew and delivered the event for the last eight years, will continue its support as Founding Partner and encourage all sporting bodies to sign up as Gold, Silver and Bronze event partners.
The Women in Sport Breakfast was last hosted in-person in 2019 with over 500 people in attendance and after two years of online events, there is excitement about hosting the breakfast networking event at Marvel Stadium again.
Women Sport Australia President Gen Dohrmann is thrilled for WSA to be able to grow the impact of the event and notes “The Women in Sport Breakfast aligns well with our WSA strategic priorities of ensuring women and girls in sport are celebrated and delivering events and programs that have an enduring impact for sport. We are excited to work with Victoria University to take the event to new heights.”
Gymnastics Victoria Chief Executive Robin O’Neill looks forward to seeing Women’s Sport Australia leading this year's event.
“Gymnastics Victoria have championed this event for close to a decade and will look forward to continuing our support as a Founding Partner,” said O’Neill.
Victoria University Associate Director of Major Partnerships, Natalie Zaibak, is eager to see the event take place and delighted to be working with WSA on the event delivery.
Zaibak adds “after pivoting the event online over the last two years with speakers on Zoom, cooking tutorial videos and breakout group networking sessions, it will be great to return to an in-person event. We look forward to continuing our support of the Women in Sport Breakfast and working with WSA to progress women in sport.”
Tickets are now available for this event for $90 a ticket.
Sporting organisations can also sign up as a Gold, Silver or Bronze partner with benefits including event tickets, brand exposure and the chance to recognise a member of their sports community for their work in the women and girls space.
