Western Australian Cricket Association looks at future facilities
The Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA), in partnership with Cricket Australia and the Western Australian Government, is developing a strategy for the future provision of and investment in cricket facilities in over the next 10 years.
The deveolopment of the WA Cricket Infrastructure Strategy (WACIS) comes off the back of a recent cricket facilities audit undertaken across more than 500 cricket venues and 650 fields across the Western Australia. The 12-month auditing process, created a strong bank of data to guide plans for future infrastructure needs state-wide.
InsideEDGE Sport and Leisure Planning consultants have been appointed to analyse and map relevant audit data and assist in the strategy development, which is due to be completed by late 2018. The Melbourne-based consultancy is this week and next working with WACA stakeholders.
The WACA itself is also working closely with its key stakeholders and affiliate bodies to develop the strategy.
