Werribee Zoo opens new Hippo Beach attraction
Victoria's Werribee Open Range Zoo has opened its new Hippo Beach attraction.
The new facility provides a cool oasis for families to relax in the shade and where children can play in the sand, with the opportunity to learn more about hippopotamuses and the threats that they face in the wild.
Hippo Beach gives the opportunity to watch hippopotamuses sleeping on the bank and gliding through water backed by while keeper feeding sessions.
The new area features thatched umbrellas and an aquatic play area.
