Waterco declares 'business as usual' after Sydney head office fire
Water treatment and swimming pool equipment manufacturer and distributor Waterco has announced that it is conducting "business as usual" after a fire at its head office and main warehouse in the Sydney suburb of Rydalmere early yesterday morning (7th January).
Units from Fire & Rescue NSW attended the scene and extinguished the fire, which was contained to the administrative office. There was nobody in the building at the time of the fire, and in a statement issued by Waterco, the company "is aware nobody was injured."
The statement added "Hazmat crews carefully monitored the smoke plume and water run off was also monitored and declared there were no issues.
"An assessment is being made to determine the extent and severity of the damage."
In relation to Waterco's operations, the statement added "as the administrative office is affected, Waterco is urgently securing a temporary administrative office and thus anticipates there will be some disruption to its operations.
"However, based on the current preliminary assessment, Waterco believes there will be minimal impact on the results of the Group.
"Waterco has commenced an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, and a further announcement will be made if necessary once more information is obtained."
