Walk21 Seoul to be Walk21’s first fully virtual conference

The 21st International Walk21 Conference - Walk21 Seoul - will be Walk21’s first fully virtual conference being held from 26th-28th May with more than 50 speakers from 24 countries sharing their insights on how to move forward with a smart and walkable city.

Walk21 is the international charity dedicated to ensuring the right to walk and the opportunity to enjoy it. The conference program touches many intersectional themes aligned to walking such as health, road safety, research, measuring, public transport and of course advocacy.

The broad range of themes and the many organisations involved – from international organisations to academia, practitioners and advocacy initiatives – demonstrate the growing importance of walking as a strategy for sustainable urban development.

The 20 sessions of Walk21 Seoul will feature keynote sessions, plenary discussions and oral presentations that can be followed online via live stream.

Registration is FREE and topics include:

•             global imperatives for walkable cities

•             more walking as a strategy for post-pandemic regeneration

•             how to build momentum and measure impact

•             air quality, health and the experience of walking

•             the future of research for walking as a mode of transport.

Join Walk21 Seoul to debate how an emphasis on walkable cities will move us forward in a post-pandemic world.
