The 21st International Walk21 Conference calls for papers
The call for papers for the 21st International Walk21 Conference is open until 30th March 2020.
The 21st International Walk21 Conference on Moving forward: Smart walkable city is to be held in Seoul, South Korea from 22nd to 25th September (venue still to be advised)
Walk21’s 21st anniversary conference will share how investment in better walking is delivering on national and city priorities; the role of urban regeneration and design to encourage and support walking; and discuss the walkable city of the future in three themes with ten sub-theme topic areas.
Theme 1: The Impact of Walking on National and City Priorities
In this thematic category, proposals are encouraged that present on: The Economic, the Social, as well as, the Environmental Impact of a Walkable City.
Theme 2: Urban Regeneration and Designing Walkable Cities
In this thematic category proposals are encouraged that present on: Visions and outcomes of walking policy. The design of spaces and places for people on foot. The integration of walking with public transport in the mobility system. The promotion of walking networks and campaigns
Theme 3: The Walkable City of the Future
In this thematic category we especially welcome proposals about Making a Walkable City and How Technology can support walking.
