Daintree zip line park reopens walking tours

A week after a man died while experiencing Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours’ zip line in the Daintree rain forest, the business has reopened its other attractions offering visitors a different experience while investigations take place.

In a statement to tour desks advising that the zip line remains closed, Jungle Surfing explained “we're continuing to work closely with the investigators appointed by Workplace Health & Safety Queensland to establish the cause of the tragic accident. Once they have completed their investigation, we'll have a clearer picture on what needs to be done to get Jungle Surfing up and running again and will be able to provide an estimated timeframe for reopening our zipline tour.

“We’ll be reopening the Jungle Adventure Centre and offering day and night walks on our property from Thursday 31st October.

“The Jungle Adventure Centre will be open from 10am to 2.30pm daily offering snacks, drinks, souvenirs, local tour bookings and tourist information.”

50-year-old Adelaide man Dean Sanderson was killed on 22nd October as a result of a fall from Jungle Surfing’s zip line.

Jungle Surfing had been trialling day walks on the property over recent months and receiving what it described as “great feedback from our guests”.

Jungle Adventures Night Walks will also be running nightly from 7.30pm.
