WA Sports Federation to be rebranded as SportWest
As part of an extensive rebranding initiative, the WA Sports Federation has unveiled a new name and logo, with the peak industry body for sport in Western Australia to become known as SportWest.
Underpinning the new brand is SportWest taking a stronger advocacy role for the WA sporting industry, with the refreshed look also reflecting the ambition of the organisation to strengthen support for members.
SportWest has worked alongside WA-based marketing and technology provider Roobix to engineer a brand modernisation to reflect the role of the peak body to promote, strengthen and advocate for sport in Western Australia.
SportWest Chairman Michael Beros says the rebranding is a reflection of the Board’s strong belief that sport can have a profoundly positive impact on the lives of West Australians.
Beros noted "the capacity of sport to bring people together, to connect people and contribute to the vibrancy of communities can’t be underestimated. We’re here to represent and support our members who contribute in so many ways to make a positive impact.”
SportWest Chief Executive Rob Thompson added:“SportWest has at its core the interests of members and highlighting the value of sport in the WA community.
“While the new name and brand provides a contemporary image for the organisation, it comes at the start of what is set to be a transformation of SportWest to provide for the needs of our members and represent their interests to government at every level.”
The change also brings about a change to the RAC WA Sports Star Awards, which will be known as the RAC SportWest Awards – a reflection of the broader celebration of sport in WA and its value to communities across our State.
In conjunction with the brand release, SportWest will activate a new website on Monday 2nd September, new newsletter distribution platform and re-aligned social media channels to reflect the change.
Further supporting collateral will be released in the coming weeks
