VMA set to stage Melbourne leg of its 2021 Congress

Postponed from earlier this year due to lockdowns, the Venue Management Association (VMA) has advised that the Melbourne leg of its 2021 Venue Industry Congress will be held on Thursday 18th November.

After a five month wait, the VMA will be staging the final leg (after Auckland, Brisbane and Sydney) of its hybrid Congress featuring both live and virtual attendance options.

The day will feature four hours of conference presentations including a keynote and three plenary sessions, access to a Trade Floor with industry exhibitors and ‘After 5’ Networking Drinks.

Speakers include Dr Catherine Ball of the Australian National University; Libby Christie, Executive Director, Australian Ballet; Shane Fitzsimmons, Commissioner at Resilience NSW; John Harnden, Chief Executive, Melbourne and Olympic Parks and Rod Pilbeam, Chief Operating Officer, ASM Global (Asia Pacific).

Providing health and safety advice for the day, the VMA stated “in line with the Victorian Government Open Premises Direction, any persons aged 16 and over must be fully vaccinated to attend events on site at the Congress host venue - MCEC.”
