VenuesWest welcomes new board members

The Western Australian Government has announced the appointment of three new members to the board of VenuesWest.

The agency, which owns 13 Westerns Australian Government venues, including Perth Arena, nib Stadium and Perth Stadium, now has former judo champion Donna Oxenham, former Netball WA Chief Executive Scott Henderson and the previous head of Southern Cross Austereo WA Linda Wayman on its board.

Western Australian Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray today welcomed the new appointments and thanked outgoing board members - Dean Farmer, Stephanie McManus and Alex McKenzie - for their dedication and commitment to overseeing the organisation.

Oxenham, who has won 35 State and two national judo titles, has involvement in indigenous youth programs with an emphasis on healthy lifestyles and education.

Henderson is employed in the tertiary education sector and brings widespread sport and business management experience and Wayman has extensive experience in major sporting events, marketing and tourism.

Minister Murray commented "I extend a warm welcome on behalf of the State to the new appointments.

"VenuesWest facilities host some of the State's biggest sporting and entertainment events, as well as important community and grassroots sport and recreation activities.

"I thank the outgoing board members for their valuable contribution to VenuesWest during their terms of service."

The appointments took effect at the end of July.
