VenuesWest partners with charities to give back to the community
As part of this year’s Christmas event, VenuesWest partnered with the Salvation Army to assist in building and donating 16 bikes for under privileged children of all ages.
The bikes along with accessories including helmets are to be given as Christmas presents to families in need this year.
Explaining that cycling is a lifetime skill that provides an opportunity for children to be healthy and active, encompassing VenuesWest’s core values and objectives, VenuesWest Chairman Graham Partridge OAM stated "VenuesWest is very proud to be able to provide new bikes for children who otherwise would miss out this year at Christmas.
“VenuesWest staff are enthusiastic about supporting this event and playing a pivotal part in ensuring children less fortunate are given the same opportunities in life that so many other people have been given.”
As well as the bikes many staff brought a small gift for a child up to the age of 18 including sporting goods, dolls, games and clothes to this year’s Christmas event, which went directly to Mission Australia.
For the second year in a row, VenuesWest assisted Mission Australia’s Christmas in the Park event by delivering personalised handwritten messages direct from VenuesWest staff with the donated gifts.
Partridge added “giving back to the community is very important to our organisation and goes hand in hand with our core business values of acting with awareness of our impact on the environment and making every effort to use our resources efficiently."
VenuesWest is committed to supporting the Western Australian community and actively supports several charity groups each year.
In 2014, VenuesWest staff have raised over $2,000 as part of monthly ‘free dress Friday’s,’ which has been donated to the following groups:
• The BOAB Network
• Breast CancerCare WA
• Ovarian Cancer Australia
• Telethon Speech and Hearing Centre
• Bright Blue Fund for sick Kids
• Everyday Hero
• Cystic Fibrosis WA
• RSPCA
• CanTeen
• MS Society of WA
• Kids with Cancer Foundation
• Movember
Partridge concluded “I am very proud to be associated with an organisation that is focused on giving back to the community by helping local community groups.”
