Aussie World extends Christmas to needy families
Aussie World has again partnered with the Salvation Army to extend Christmas cheer to local Sunshine Coast families who do it tough at this time of year.
In the lead up to Christmas, the Sunshine Coast amusement park has opened its gates to over 450 Sunshine Coast locals on Thursday 18th December, for a special day of exclusive rides, meetings with Santa, the Salvation Army Band and Carolers and a hot Christmas lunch.
Commenting on the event, which has been running for 12 years, Salvation Army spokesperson Captain Stuart Glover stated “for most families attending the Salvos Family Fun Day is a day that most would not be able to afford, for some families it is just a struggle to put a healthy meal on the table.
“This is a day that allows families to celebrate Christmas and treat their children to an out of the ordinary day, a day they can spend as a family without the worry of the finances.
“The Salvation Army are so grateful for the partnership we have with Aussie World at this time of year, enabling us to lift the Christmas spirit of so many local families.
“This day means so much to the families.”
Stating that Christmas is about sharing experiences and making memories, Aussie World General Manager David Thompson added “this is the 12th year that we’ve put on this event for The Salvation Army and its extra special to us to see the joy in people’s faces year after year.
“We want to provide an exciting experience for these families so they can have wonderful memories of Christmas to reflect on.
“We also value the community of the Sunshine Coast and like to show our support whenever we have the chance.”
In 2014, Aussie World has again investment and grown the property and will go into the Christmas period with 200 employees.
Offering 30 rides and attractions and fun for all ages, Aussie World is where families and friends come to spend quality time with each other, to have fantastic fun, receive unforgettable service and take home memorable moments to last a lifetime.
