Venue Management Services appoints Erica Sammut to new General Manager - Venues and Events position

Venue Management Services (VMS) has announced the appointment of Erica Sammut to the newly created position of General Manager- Venues and Events.

With over 15 years industry experience, Sammut joins VMS from recent roles at Delaware North Companies at the Melbourne and Olympic Parks as Food and Beverage Manager and Spotless and Epicure at the Melbourne Cricket Ground as Event Planning Manager.

In her new role Sammut will be responsible for the management of the nationwide VMS portfolio of venues and the growth of VMS further into the local and state government sector.

Welcoming her appointment, VMS Managing Director Saxon Mitchell stated “we are delighted to welcome Erica to the VMS Team.

Sammut has an extensive event, business, sales and catering management background achieved from working in some of Melbourne’s most popular iconic venues including the Rod Laver Arena and Hisense Arena at Melbourne Park (home of the Australian Open), the MCG, Flemington Racecourse (home of the Melbourne Cup) and the Hotel Sofitel.

Outside of Melbourne, her venue experience includes work at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Auckland’s Vector Arena and for the opening of the National Sports Stadium in Singapore.

Having worked for all four of the major catering companies in Melbourne (Delaware North, Spotless, Epicure and Peter Rowland Catering) she has an enviable knowledge of running venues and events.
