VBase host New Zealand’s largest business awards event
Vbase last week hosted more than 1,230 guests to a gala dinner at Christchurch's Horncastle Arena for the annual Champion Canterbury Business Awards.
New Zealand’s largest business awards event was staged by Canterbury Employers’ Chamber of Commerce and MCed by comedian and writer Michele A’Court.
Vbase had 95 food and beverage waiting staff and 20 chefs and kitchen staff on hand to serve the three course dinner matched with top local wines. The selection included tasting plates of Canterbury salmon, duck and main courses of confit of lamb, and grain fed chicken. Desserts featured baby chocolate mousse truffle cake, berry crumble and lemon meringue pie.
Vbase was also a finalist in the Awards with its venue partner Air Force Museum. Christchurch’s premier venue management company and the major Christchurch attraction worked together in an innovative partnership to rejuvenate the city’s business tourism and hospitality sector.
Air Force Museum’s new convention space has proved to be a versatile and impressive venue for conferences, trade exhibitions and gala dinners.
Vbase General Manager Darren Burden explains “with capacity for up to 1,300 people and flexibility for use the venue has been in hot demand since it opened in February 2013.”
As well as managing events at Air Force Museum and Horncastle Arena, Vbase also operates Christchurch’s other leading venues - AMI Stadium, ilex Café and Events at Christchurch Botanic Gardens, and the new Pavilion at Hagley Oval.
